The COVID-19 pandemic created a heightened awareness for hygiene and cleanliness within facilities and workplaces across the world.
This awareness has employers, governments, and regulators vigorously looking for better employee health and safety standards.
While many companies provide COVID cleaning services, the problem for many companies remains, “How do you verify that your facility is decontaminated?”
TEAM Group is known for being on the leading edge in the industrial cleaning industry. As the leaders we are proud to use ATP Cleaning Verification System.
What is ATP?
ATP stands for adenosine triphosphate, it is an energy particle found in all living cells which allows metabolism to occur on a cellular level. Bacteria, blood, saliva, viruses and all organic matter contains ATP.
It is important to know that ATP testing is not a direct viral test that identifies COVID-19. This technology is used to detect living organisms which includes but is not limited to the coronavirus.
How does ATP Post Cleaning Verification work?
After your facility is cleaned and decontaminated our experts use the SystemSURE Plus ATP cleaning verification system. This is a rapid monitoring system used primarily in the healthcare industry.
If there is any organic matter after decontamination our ATP test will pick this up, and identify the location. This allows us to identify which areas of your facility need more decontamination, before our TEAM will certify that your facility has been cleaned to suitable levels.
It is important to know that eliminating ATP from surfaces will minimize the risk of the viruses to spread. However we can not guarantee that the virus won’t spread via air, or re-contamination.
ATP monitoring is used as a reportable direct measurement of cleanliness. It will provide data that helps our experts make an instant assessment of the hazard and risk levels associated with the spread of COVID-19.
ATP Limits
Our expert industrial cleaners will identify 3 levels of ATP contamination as a general starting point:
- Pass: 25 < RLU
- Caution 25 – 50 RLU
- Fail 50+ RLU
These limits may vary depending on the risk and location of these tests. High touch points should be cleaned more frequently, and have lower RLU limits. Where low and remote locations can contain higher RLU limits. If you’ve had a COVID outbreak we may recommend lower RLU limits depending on the severity of the contamination.
By identifying the test locations and corresponding RLU level we can provide a detailed report on which areas fall under each category. Giving you full transparency into the cleanliness of your facility.
